Ah, the weight loss battle has begun. And what a battle it will be - with myself! I keep trying to tell myself that it would be so much easier if the weather were warm and sunny - ie: 75+ degrees... yeah, right. If I can't do this when it's cold, then I may as well lasso the moon... Ok, so that didn't make any sense, but it's also 12:30 at night and I should be in bed, but I'm sitting at my computer typing a message that I will probably want to delete after I read it in the morning.
If anyone does read this blog, besides me, let me know if you are trying to lose weight and if success is finding you. Or maybe you've already lost it, weight that is, and you'd like to share how you did it. I'd love to hear some encouraging words and advice. The more the merrier, you know. I've decided to do it without pills and crash diets, I'm trying this the old-fashioned way: portion control, exercise and general lifestyle changes.
I can do it!!!

Go Faith! I know you can do it. I'm proud of you doing it the healthy way too, it will pay off so much more in the long run. One thing I had to do was keep all things out of the house that weren't good for me (I have ZERO willpower!); such as: pop, chips, cookies, ice cream, etc. I also excercise in the morning because I never wanted to do it after work, now it's the same way being home with Forest. :) A gallon of water a day, fresh fruit/veggies and whole grains. That's the advice I have! You can do all things through Christ who gives you strength!
Much love,
Missy
Oh ... I am right there with you. I have been trying since October. Not sure it shows yet! But I keep it up, I can't stop now! You go girl. I think it works when you have something/someone to hold you accountable. Take care. -b
faith- i had a great hard year of loosing weight and lost 75 pounds. You have to keep your mind focused. Find a place to put some photos of yourself that you don't like. Put some post-its up with encouraging notes, verses etc. I dont know if you have cable but there is a show called 'big medicine' it creeped me out, so that was my inspiration. biggest loser is good too. It does help to have others to keep you accoutable. Even here on your blog if you post/journal regularly that will help you. Have a day of the week that you will have as officail weigh in. I go to TOPS and get to see your mom every week. I have been struggeling lately, the holidays were rough but yummy. I like what your friend said about keeping the naughty stuff out of the house. i try to keep my veggies all ready cut up in the fridge and have a salad on hand. i am currently trying to focus on fiber and water. my favorite ceral right now is All-bran Strawberry medley. There are 10 grams of fiber in one serving. My 8 year old likes it to so that is good. Curves has a good cereal, and grape nuts are all good fiber. I try to add flax seed meal to my food, and even sprinkle it on my food. 1 Tablespoon =4 grams of fiber. Wow i could go on and on. i haven't given up my diet pepsi. Remember how you said it would be easier to do in 75 degree weather, i think that too but remember this. Think about if you start now how good you will look/feel when it is 75 degrees. I do have a facebook page that i use as my journal. I have thought about a blog but i don't know...sorry if i went too long and blah blah blah.
Faith, I'm enjoying reading your blog! This was/is going to be the year that I drop a few pounds too... not doing too well right now. But it's good to know there are people out there who are struggling and who are serious about it. As for fiber, I really enjoy eating Kashi Go Lean cereal each morning... It really keeps you "moving"! : )
